Financial Assistance

Help in Your Language

DeKalb Township strives to be a resource for all members of our community. This includes non-English speakers. Non-English speakers seeking financial assistance, guidance, or information about town services, events, and more are invited to visit our office during regular business hours to receive assistance in their language.

IMPORTANT: Translation services are not available by phone.  An office visit is required for language assistance.  No appointment is needed.

Food Assistance

The DeKalb Township does not directly assist with food insecurity, however, we do help fund several social service agencies that provide food to those in need. View a complete listing of food pantries county-wide.

Financial Assistance

The Township's low-income relief program is called General Assistance. General Assistance provides ongoing financial support to those experiencing hardship, so long as they continue to be eligible. The Township also has an Emergency Assistance Program which provides short-term relief to qualifying individuals who do not meet the eligibility criteria for General Assistance.
