DeKalb & Sycamore Township residents are invited to participate in the Townships’ semi-annual shred & recycle event. This drive-thru event provides residents with the opportunity to securely dispose of sensitive personal information, including paper documents, CD-Rs and medical grade film (i.e. x-rays). The event also provides for the opportunity to donate select unwanted items, including: used eyeglasses, used hearing aids, keys and key fobs, ink jet cartridges, tabs from aluminum cans, cellphones, tablets & iPads, phones and tablet chargers, prepaid calling cards, and used sneakers. The Lions of Illinois Foundation will refurbish or repurpose the donated items to serve families and individuals in need.
